Students are involved in our local community through their participation in our monthly Cal Coast Cares (C3) volunteer opportunities. This community service program supports students in developing a sense of responsibility to our local and global communities.
All students in grades sixth through eighth must minimally complete ten qualifying community service hours per year while ninth through twelfth grade students are required to minimally complete twenty-five qualifying community service hours per year. Service hours are carried forward from year to year. Transferring students must meet with our C3 Director to determine their number of transferable community service hours. An equitable adjustment of the required number of hours for graduation commensurate with the time spent as a student at Cal Coast Academy will be made. Any senior graduate not completing the required number of service hours will not be granted an official diploma until the
needed hours are met.
Community service hours are to be completed after school, on weekends or during summer and/or vacation periods. All service hours must be documented by a signed Reflection form and submitted within three months of completion. In order to comply with our school’s community service requirements, students must submit their qualifying community service hours no later than the first of May.
